Software Developer
PROFITsystems, Inc. is a leader in big-ticket retail solutions for home goods retailers. We are currently seeking a software developer to work in our Colorado Springs office.
A position with PROFITsystems ensures that you will be using many different technologies in our never-ending improvement cycle for our software products. We are a smaller company with a family atmosphere that allows your hard work to really shine.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in computer science, management information systems or related field
-Or-
- Associate degree in computer science, management information systems or related field and 2+ years of relevant work experience
-Or-
- 10+ years of progressive programming experience
Job Requirements:
- VB.NET: Strong overall knowledge of .NET technologies and object oriented design
- SQL: Familiar enough with SQL to write moderately complex queries
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience with both Windows Forms and Web Forms is a definite plus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of the PROFITprofessional application
- Perform basic product lifecycle functions including, but not limited to, the analysis, designing, coding, documenting and testing process as is required for on-going maintenance and enhancements to our new and existing software products
- Write basic technical documents as is needed in order to assist the team
- Provide troubleshooting tasks to tackle customer issues in the field
- Research and develop special projects such as the migration to the .Net platform, XML/EDI, radio frequency bar coding, web applications and more
- Attend various conferences, meetings, seminars and the like in order to communicate and coordinate various projects within and outside the company
- Learn new skills and technologies in an effort to improve the processes and procedures we employ in our other duties
- Perform routine product builds as is necessary for release of our products
- Attend various department and company meetings
- Convert various data from other electronic systems to be compatible with PROFITsystems software in an effort to reduce key-entry for new clients, e.g. customer file, item file and vendor file conversions.
